The virtues of healthy competition are well-documented. Healthy competition is effective because it encourages people to work hard and do their best. It also provides validation and recognition for top performers and motivation and accountability for others.
Annual contests are one of the many ways to push your employees to achieve excellence and deliver par excellence.
These contests prove to provide great motivation and prove to be a great source of inspiration for the participants. They get a chance to showcase their talent, meet the top management and their mentors and establish their personal brand with others across the organization thus creating an identity for themselves.
The participants undergo a journey that gives them the chance to learn through various interventions, be mentors to others and also are evaluated by their mentors on various facets of their own knowledge and skills about their job.
During the annual contest, the participants get on a rollercoaster ride and get varied experiences of classroom interventions, on-job simulations, market study, market strategies, knowledge tests and skill evaluation along with byte-sized modules that are delivered through classroom and virtual formats.
“Let the Best man win” holds true for participants during these annual contests. These contests test the participants on their knowledge, skills, attitude and attributes which make them effective at their workplace. Participants are also evaluated on their thinking orientation, value and belief systems, people-orientation and their mindset towards handling challenging situations and people.
Each round sees participants being eliminated and the best moving forward in their journey until the “Best Man” has been identified as the winner of the event.
